Before
Existing feeders were not adaptable to high quality and diverse plastic/resin product plants with recipe control function. The customer was planning to launch a continuous production line to feed various additive powders to main powder with good recipe control. There were challenging requirements for customizability, contamination-free, tightly sealed mechanical structure and so on. Funken offered a set of different feeders and mixers to solve this problem. Our CONTROL PANEL could operate the feeding/mixing system with accuracy and flexibility.

After
In a value-added plastic/resin plant based on PE/PP, the customer achieved a well-controlled continuous production line with less motor load variation. Main powder and additive powders were very well-premixed and the feeding was smooth and stable.

FUNKEN ROLL FEEDER
The FUNKEN ROLL FEEDER was developed for feeding granular/pellet materials. The contact surface of the feed roller is specifically designed to protect supplying material. Simple design to adjust the feed rate with semi-round gate.
WEIGHING AUTO FEEDER
The WEIGHING AUTO FEEDER can offer you a very accurate and adjustable feeding/dosing process with a loss-in-weight system. The system consists of a load cell and control unit with a highly reliable programmable controller. There is no scattering of supply powder due to the sealed mechanical structure. If your equipment is installed in a security-controlled area, explosion proof structure can be selected for electrical instrumentations.
FUNKEN FLOW MIXER
The FUNKEN FLOW MIXER is the screw conveyor with powder inlets and mixing part for powders and granules. The customer can build a reliable conveying system and mixing system at the same time when it is combined with the FUNKEN AUTO FEEDER which is an accurate and stable feeder for powder and granule materials.
FUNKEN CONTROL PANEL
Funken has developed an original PID control system for control panels to operate feeders with load cells with accurate and flexible control of feeding rate. There are DC-type and DD-type. Please check our product page for further details.
Before
There were difficulties in handling various silica powders in the customer’s equipment due to the fine particle size and diversified powder flowability (fluidity). For instance, some silica powders were easily flushed(*1) and the other ones were sometimes adhered to the surface of machine parts. Our customer put importance not only on the stability in constant feeding but also on the adaptability for both tricky powders to switch their production line.

After
Stabilized constant feeding process is achieved for the two types of silica powders with different characteristics. Through this procedure, customer can readily switch their production line. Detachable/exchangeable special attachments were applied for the flushing powder and sticky powder.

Our Proposal
Funken proposed FUNKEN AUTO FEEDER (FSR type) for the flushing powder and FUNKEN AUTO FEEDER (FS type) for sticky powder. The customer can exchange the rotor and some other parts from FSR type to FS type to switch their production line because the other parts have exactly similar dimensions.
*For switching of powder batches, we also have FUNKEN CARTRIDGE FEEDER.

FUNKEN AUTO FEEDER (FS type)
The first and basic type of machines is a FUNKEN AUTO FEEDER. It is a very reliable feeder for general powder as well as cohesive and strongly adhesive powders. The highly accurate feed rate is within +0.5 to 1.0% in volume for feeding rate ranging from 0.5 L/h to 100 m3.
FUNKEN CARTRIDGE FEEDER
The cartridge Feeder is designed on the basis of FS type Funken Auto Feeder and assures you stable and constant feeding/dosing. At the same time, You can disassemble the machine quickly without any tools. The feeding parts of the machine are made as cartridges and are easy to change with spare parts.
Before
Existing noodle plant consumes large of a space and too much electricity for production. In addition, it was far from being a sanitary environment. The customer was applying a batch to batch process for noodle production. It was hard for them to change the concept of production and introduce a continuous processing. The important factors were the quality of the final products, efficiency of equipment, customizability, and follow-through service. Funken proposed the combination of FUNKEN AUTO FEEDER for accurate and constant feeding and FLOW JET MIXER for uniform mixing process as a continuous system. Our laboratory team showed the produced dough in the demonstration test for the customer. They were finally convinced by its quality after watching and touching of the dough (quality of noodle dough is judged by empirical knowledge of experienced craftsmen). After installation of our equipment, the consumed space and electricity in the noodle plant greatly decreased. Also, the production was running well and steadily controlled by the FUNEN CONTROL PANEL efficiently in a smart and automatic fashion.

After
Continuous production with optimal space and electricity was achieved in the noodle plant. At the same time, a sanitary environment was realized. Also, quality was improved compared with a conventional production line.

FLOW JET MIXER
The FLOW JET MIXER makes uniformly dispersed powder and liquid mixture in an instant second. It can achieve moistening/kneading/dissolving of powder as the mixture flow is down. This was once said to be impossible with conventional mixers before Funken invented the FLOW JET MIXER. The accurate feeding of the inlet powder onto the center of mixer, high-speed rotate disc’s centrifugal power and original internal attachments are the key to its success. Before
Existing feeders could not convey plastic waste effectively due to tangling/agglomeration/bridge formation troubles. In the current eco-friendly society, wastes can be used as resources for thermal or material recycling. The customer operates a large plant with kilns needed for plastic waste as a heat resource. However, each plastic shape was tricky to handle by conventional feeders. Funken developed a new type of feeder to supply plastic waste with high accuracy and good control.

After
The FUNKEN WAP FEEDER made it possible to feed/dose plastic waste without existing trouble. The CONTROL PANEL and load cells provided customers with a high accuracy loss-in-weight control system. Not only hard plastics, but also soft plastics with undefined material surfaces can be supplied. As a result, the customer did not need to use an expensive plastic crusher in the previous process.


FUNKEN WAP FEEDER
The FUNKEN WAP FEEDER is developed to feed/dose plastic waste. A special impeller mechanism eliminates risk on tangling/agglomeration/bridge formation of plastic waste. High accuracy loss-in-weight gravimetric control is achieved with a load cell and a highly reliable PLC.

Before
Taking too much time for cleaning and changing supply powder during production. Stable feeding/dosing system & simplicity for various powders could not be achieved at once. The customer needed to change various powders during continuous production. They had a challenge to simplify the changing/cleaning task and stabilize the feeding/dosing process at the same time. Our proposal was the Cartridge Feeder which is easy to disassemble.

After
Supply stability of various powders was achieved by only one machine with spare cartridges that are easy to change. Also, the troublesome task to change powder became simplified.
